Purtle Park

This multi-million dollar project is the fruition of over six years of planning, fundraising and applications for grant funding by a dedicated group of community members (including the local council) who were determined to create an inclusive destination regional playground located on the Lake Mulwala foreshore.

Extensive demolition works were required before the new playspace could take place, with the removal of derelict play equipment, park bollards and furniture, willow removals, and decommissioning a boat ramp.

Purtle Park now boasts an impressive Skywalk and climbing net, sensory waterplay and a large sandpit, and a range of swings, slides and spin play. New BBQ facilities and a DDA drinking fountain and solar lighting were also installed.

ECS also saw the opportunity to transplant mature Canary Island palms and a Queensland Bottle tree to significantly add scale and amenity value into the new landscaped surrounds.
